Own Cars – Company Policies

At Own Cars, we strive to provide a seamless and hassle-free self-drive car rental experience while ensuring transparency, safety, and customer satisfaction. Below are our key policies to help you understand our terms and conditions before booking a vehicle.

Booking & Payment Policy

Age Requirement: The renter must be at least 21 years old with a valid driving license.
Valid Documents: A government-issued driving license, Aadhaar/PAN card, or passport is required for verification.
Payment Terms: Full payment must be made at the time of booking via online payment, UPI, or credit/debit card/Cash .
Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit is 5000/- to 15000/- required , and depending on the car model and rental duration.

Vehicle Usage Policy

Kilometer Limit: Rental packages include 300 kilometers For 24 hrs .If km exceeds more than 300 then Additional kilometers will be charged as 8 ₹ per km for 5 seater and 10 ₹ per km for 7 seater and Premium Cars charges will be applied. 
Fuel Policy: Vehicles are provided with a certain fuel level and must be returned with the same level Extra fuel : Non – Refundable.
Restricted Areas: Driving outside permitted geographical limits (e.g., outside Maharashtra) requires prior approval.
Traffic Rules: The renter must follow all traffic laws and is responsible for any fines or penalties incurred during the rental period.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Free Cancellation: Cancellations made 24 hours before the booking start time are eligible for a full refund.
Partial Refund: Cancellations made within 24 hours of pickup time may incur a cancellation fee.
Security Deposit Refund: The deposit will be refunded within 3-5 Hours after check the vehicle and is returned in good condition.

Penalty Clause : If you have booked a car for 24 hours and you extend the time without informing us then you have to pay a penalty of Rs. 1500/- for 5 Seater and 2500/- For 7 Seater or Premium cars along with the hourly Payments.  

Damage & Liability Policy

Vehicle Inspection: The car must be checked before pickup, and any existing damage Dents ,long scratches ,Breakage, etc should be reported if renter damage the vehicle like Dents Long Scratches Breakage during the rental period the Repair Charges Will be Deduct in Deposit Amount because Dents ,long scratches ,Breakage, etc .Can’t be claim in insurance. .
Accidental Damage: In case of an accident, the renter must inform Own Cars immediately and follow the insurance claim process and if accident is major and go to workshop for repair then renter will have to pay rent on a daily basis for the duration of the vehicle being parked in the workshop .
Breakdown Assistance: 24/7 roadside assistance is available for mechanical failures.
Insurance Coverage: All vehicles are fully insured, but renters are liable for damages beyond insurance coverage.                                                                                     Don’t drink and drive if you are then you are all responsible for damage.

Pickup & Drop-off Policy

Doorstep Delivery: Available at an additional charge within Pune city limits.
Timely Return: 1 –  Late return of vehicles attract additional charges If time exceeds more than 24 hrs then 200 ₹ for 5 seater and  300 ₹ for 7 seater and premium cars per hr charges will be applied.if your time exceeds than 3 hr then full day charge will be applied.

2 –  If you have booked a car for 24 hours and we have informed you that we have another booking for the same car after you and the second booking gets cancelled due to your not returning the car on time then you will have to pay the full amount of that cancelled booking.                                                                                                     

  Cleanliness: The car should be returned in clean condition to avoid extra cleaning charges.

Privacy & Data Protection Policy

Secure Transactions: Customer data, including payment details, is protected with high-security encryption.
No Data Sharing: Own Cars do not share personal information with third parties without consent.
